Powerful insights from Dalai Lama

A precious human life “every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to have woken up, I am alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it, I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others, to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, I am going to have kind thoughts towards others I am not going to get angry, or think badly about others I am going to benefit others as much as I can”

People exist to be loved; objects exist to be used. The world is in chaos because these things are the other way round.

The purpose of our lives is to be happy.
Our lives is to be happy

Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions:

It comes from the constant efforts and services that you do for yourself and for the things around you. Remember that you have to work for everything, even happiness cannot come just like that, you have to make it.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible:

Kindness is so beautiful and rare, oh it is a wonder to be kind even in the worst situations. Kindness comes when you are happy within yourself. You can change a person’s day by just being kind to them. That much power is there in kindness.

Well-being comes through action, not through prayer:

Again, no everything can be God-given. You have to work for it. If you aspire good lifestyle, make sure you do the necessary affirmations to achieve it. Remember that physical health is related to your mental health and both need to be taken care of.

Sleep is the best meditation:

Sleep when you are unhappy, sleep when you have anxiety, sleep when you are angry with someone or with yourself. Sleep is indeed the best meditation. It calms your nerves, controls your breathing, and also refreshes your mind.

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.

In the practice of tolerance, one’s enemy is the best teacher:

Our enemies can teach us a lot of things, hate doesn’t rule anything and love conquers all. Remember that, always.

When you practice gratefulness, there is a sense of respect toward others:

Be grateful for things in life and don’t take them for granted. Remember that it is a privilege to have this expertise and not everyone has them. If you have a roof over your head, food to eat, and family to live with, you are privileged.

Where ignorance is our master, there is no possibility of real peace.

More compassionate mind, more sense of concern for other’s well-being, is the source of happiness.
